How it works
The Excelight is a source of high energy pulsed radiation for medical and in-particular dermatological applications. The system has been developed as a platform for a range of intense pulsed light enabling a number of different treatment applications. Based on a state-of-the-art flash lamp technology, the Excelight is capable of delivering pulse energy’s up to 250j from a small compact unit, with the wavelength emissions varying in bands from 550nm up to 1100nm depending on headpiece used.
The melanin (pigment) in the hair absorbs the light and produces heat. This heat damages the hair follicle in such a way as to inhibit regrowth (it damages the stem cells in the bulb and buldge). The hairs in the active (anagen) growth stage will then naturally fall out over a period of 1 to 3 weeks
