How it works
The Excelight is a source of high energy pulsed radiation for medical and in-particular dermatological applications. The system has been developed as a platform for a range of intense pulsed light enabling a number of different treatment applications. Based on a state-of-the-art flash lamp technology, the Excelight is capable of delivering pulse energy’s up to 250j from a small compact unit, with the wavelength emissions varying in bands from 550nm up to 1100nm depending on headpiece used.
The pigmented lesions will absorb the light, which causes them to heat up. The heat created damages the cells containing the melanin, while causing minimal damage to the surrounding skin. Following treatment, the lesions turn darker and may crust over. Over the following weeks they will gradually flake away from the skin leaving little trace of the original lesion

Exposure to sunlight and use of fake tan will result in recurrence of lesions
