How it works
The Excelight is a source of high energy pulsed radiation for medical and in-particular dermatological applications. The system has been developed as a platform for a range of intense pulsed light enabling a number of different treatment applications. Based on a state-of-the-art flash lamp technology, the Excelight is capable of delivering pulse energy’s up to 250j from a small compact unit, with the wavelength emissions varying in bands from 550nm up to 1100nm depending on headpiece used.
The light heats up the vessel causing the vessel to either instantly collapse (vessel blanching) or causing the blood to coagulate within the vessel (vessel darkening)
Over the following weeks the damages vessels are absorbed naturally by the body, so little or no trace of the original lesion remains.
1 – 5 treatments (depends on type of lesion)
Every 4 – 6 weeks
